Customer Service/Workshop Assistant

We are looking for an extremely reliable and highly communicative individual who is excited to help our customers get the service they deserve as well as to help us fabricate materials, prep robot kits and ship them off to our students all around the world. You must be comfortable drilling and using simple power tools, as well as possess strong organizational skills. You must be computer savvy and friendly.
Requirements
- You must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
- Experience doing customer service.
- Understands the importance of ensuring that the customer feels seen and appreciated.
- You must be friendly and kind.
- Experience working with your hands—We’re looking for makers. Some examples: Woodworking, sculpture, art, set construction.
- Experience using our most-used tools: drill press, glue gun, wire stripper, box cutter, screwdriver, heat gun, hammer.
- Familiarity with our occasionally-used tools: soldering iron, mitre saw, jigsaw, CNC router.
- You are detail-oriented, organized, and love solving problems.
- You can work in a precise, patient manner on a deadline.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and love to work collaboratively.
- Must be able to pass a CPR/First Aid certification.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
- You must be friendly, reliable and responsible.
Location Details
You will be working at our Gowanus, Brooklyn production facility, located near Whole Foods.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with a commitment of 4 to 5 days a week. The hours are 1:00-5:30 Monday-Friday with occasional weekend shifts. If you do 4 days/week, you must work on Mondays.
Job starts in April. This position will start as a five-month contract. However, there may be an opportunity after the summer to stay on as a full or part-time employee.
